How could one not be inspired by a country as extraordinary as Myanmar? Beyond its unique landscapes and the distinctive sounds that fill both day and night, what remains most vivid is the profound sense of human warmth.
Travelling alone for a month in this distant land, so different from my own, I learned to open myself to its people and their way of life. From my very first days, I had to place my trust in strangers in order to move forward and embrace unexpected experiences. Never before would I have imagined myself riding a scooter along dirt roads in Asia, climbing onto the back of a stranger’s motorcycle toward unknown horizons, or exploring the depths of a cave alone and barefoot. Each day brought a new adventure.
The reflection of gold on the stupas, the sound of bells carried by the wind, bare feet on warm stone, and a deep sense of peace are among the memories that continue to accompany my creative process.
